Twenty-one years ago, I made a decision that changed everything: I stopped touching milk. It wasn’t just about food—it was about faith, healing, and honoring the sacred design of our bodies and the world around us. As a mother, I witnessed firsthand how each of my three breastfeeding journeys was uniquely tailored by God—from the golden milk for my premature baby to the swift colostrum after my VBAC. These moments taught me that our bodies are wise, and that nourishment begins with trust.
As I reflect on my vegan path, I see how deeply it aligns with the virtues we’re called to live by:
🌟 Faith
I chose to raise my children vegan with faith that I was honoring their bodies, their futures, and the integrity of creation. Even when others questioned me, I trusted that this decision was rooted in love and truth.
🌈 Hope
I hold hope that the violence against animals will end. That one day, compassion will outweigh convenience, and we’ll see all creatures as part of a shared world—not commodities.
💖 Love
Loving ourselves means feeding our bodies with care. Loving animals means refusing to harm them. Veganism is an act of love—toward creation, toward our neighbors, and toward the least among us.
🕊️ Humility
Animals are not here to serve us. They are not ours to use. Humility reminds us that we are stewards, not masters, of the earth. We are called to protect, not exploit.
🍃 Patience
Nature provides in seasons. Vegan living teaches us to wait, to savor, to store for tomorrow. Patience is found in the rhythm of planting, harvesting, and preparing with intention.
🌍 Kindness
Kindness extends beyond people—it touches the soil, the air, the oceans. Every plant-based choice is a gentle act of kindness toward the environment and future generations.
🧘🏽 Self-Control
In a world full of pressure and indulgence, self-control is a quiet strength. It’s choosing what aligns with your values, even when it’s not popular. It’s saying no to cruelty, even when it’s disguised as tradition.
This November marks 21 years since I chose this path. It’s not just a diet—it’s a devotion. A daily practice of honoring creation, my children’s health, and the values I hold sacred. May this journey inspire you to reflect, reset, and rise with purpose.
